I've been in a mid-July funk and this was born.

I used a photoshop filter over a painting completed in Painter to get some of those black outlines- but that was the intention from the beginning so I think it's allowed. :)

sometimes people gets quite surprised when good artists go around saying the methods used on their works and more people gets even more surprised when they actually say that they have used a default filter from the photoshop gallery, haha its like blaspheme for them, which i's kinda odd for me since like this beautiful painting those outlines fit my taste, they are quite appealing and gives an extra touch and texture to the whole thing, specially love the ones on the guy, around his mouth and arm, the most soft ones, so i really liked it, and the colour, woa, its never easy to work with blue as a skin tone, i've tried and ended up changing it back haha, lovely anyway.

Hmm... I think the default filters can be a bit of a cop-out if over-used or are claimed to be done by hand but I suppose it's a part of the medium and aught to be 'allowed'. I knew that I could never duplicate the desired effect- that texture- if I didn't go with the filter, so I used it and am happy for it! :) Thanks for the compliments.

As for the blue skin.... when I'm feeling down I tend to paint in uber-saturation. The shock of color is usually enough to make me feel a little better! :D
